Office:
Five member team of ARUP had an
hour-long meeting at World Bank with their visiting “World Bank Audit Team”.
Brief on activities since start and future plans were followed by discussion on
various matters concerning our roads.
Four-member team participated in video conference on the Subject of “Road Fund and Tolls”. Washington Office controlled the conference in which India, Nepal and Pakistan participated.
Combined team of ARUP Country Office and Islamabad office participated in the following:
Seminar on “Road Management in Pakistan in Perspective” on 4 Nov at Margalla Motel. Same was
organized by
Project Manager (PMU – ADB) and attended by all IFIs, NHA, reps of provincial C&W departments and NGOs
Workshop on “Project Monitoring” of Roads by PMC was held at Ministry of Environment on 05 Nov.
Meeting with Chief Executive NTRC on 10 Nov.
Sindh:
Work on extending membership
in new districts continued. Pace of recruitment is being maintained with the
sincere efforts of provincial team.
Sindh office has also requested concerned authorities regarding dangerous
crossings in Karachi and for setting up Vehicle Emission Testing Station (VETS)
in Sindh.
Punjab:
Conference for Faisalabad district
is on as soon as some administrative hurdles are managed.
Another workshop at Multan is also being planned.
Two meetings were held at Lahore with the visiting World Bank Audit Missions.
Representatives of truckers also participated.
NWFP:
Works on enrollment and setting up
a working office at Peshawar are being attended to urgently.
