The Need
 |
| . |
In
many countries initiatives are underway to increase the participation of "road
stakeholder" in the management of road networks.
But road
management is a complex process, involving many forms of specialist expertise and
knowledge.
The essence of
sophisticated roads expertise needs to be presented in accessible, interesting and freely
available forms, so that all road stakeholders can make constructive contribution to
future road management.
Also a wealth of
practical experience in new approaches to managing and financing roads need to be fed back
directly from one country to another, so that many more people can understand and support
changes. |

Sector Development
Initiative in Pakistan
|
|
The
transport is a prime factor in the economy of any country.
Transport infrastructure represents, if not the engine
then the wheels of economic activity. No country can make
significant progress without an adequate transport
infrastructures.
Regrettably,
the condition of Pakistan's transport infrastructure and
services are extremely deplorable , which severely limits
the trade and commerce of the country. The transport
sector needs heavy investment for expansion, technological
upgrading and replacement of old assets. Transport
infrastructure is needed to be managed as business. To
achieve all this Pakistan needs a comprehensive integrated
transport policy.
In
this regard a series of seminar and workshops are planned
to be held all over Pakistan. RoadPeople is proud to be
associated in this initiative and committed to facilitate
the process of consultation and policy making by providing
modern tool of consensus building i.e. Internet. To know
